I was looking for a speaker to discuss Accountability with our management team. From the moment I reached out to Mike (on LinkedIn), he was accommodating and walked me through a smooth preparation process to customize the workshop to our needs. Honestly speaking, it was a gamble to bring in an outside person but our management team loved him! He delivered a great workshop and I am still receiving good feedback. In my current role, I work with outsourced partners and holding them accountable to meeting our goals and expectations can be challenging. Unlike managing direct reports where you may have progressive discipline and other consequences to poor performance to lean on, you don't have the same protocol/employer-employee relationship, so holding them accountable is even more difficult. Understanding the difference between compliance and commitment hit home with me. Our partners meet 'minimum' goals based on what is 'contracted' but how do we move them from compliance and meeting the minimums outlined in the contract towards commitment to wanting to perform better. Mike's presentation gave me some tools to use in future conversations to help the partners have ownership in their performance and therefore, push themselves to perform at higher levels.

Mike Evans recently presented his talk “Thrive in the New World of Work” at the 2022 Florida Health Information Management Association. As a meeting planner, it is always very helpful to have a speaker who is very communicative on the front end, making sure we have all we need for their presentation and taking the time to learn about our group.
