Patient Experience Keynote Speaker
MI, USAfter performing 20 years as a standup comedian, I transitioned into teaching Heatlh Care Systems and Physicians how to imrove the patietn experience. I use my gift of engagement to connect. What I learned afer shadwoing and coaching over 600 physicians is that most health care systems struggle with how to improve patient experience because they don't know how to get physicians to "buy in". I provide organizations a strategy to get physicians on board, open to change, and actually grateful for the advice. I also provide physicians simple techniques that work to overcome common patient issues. The result is happier patients, happier physicians, and higher patient satisfaction scores.
The simple answer is to treat physicians the way we want them to treat patients, then give them the tools that will provide them with a better experience. I shadowed over 600 physicians in the past 2 years and found that they are under lot of pressure from every direction. I learned quickly to empathize with them. By listening, understanding, and getting to know physicians, I can better serve them, thus allowing me to coach them on behaviors that improve patient experience as well as their own experience. I was able to show them ways to overcome common patient frustrations and issue. I know this process works because not only have I experienced it firsthand but I have seen dramatic increases in Press Ganey patient satisfaction scores from every department shadowed. As a former standup comedian of 20 years, I learned quickly how to engage in order to succeed with any type of audience. I continue to use my power for good by presenting, coaching, shadowing, and training physicians and health care organizations how to improve patient experience.
I still use comedy and music to drive my interactive presentation. I use comedy to break down the walls of inhibition and I use music to awaken the emotion and creativity of each person. ENGAGEMENT is the key. 20 years performing Stand Up Comedy and 10 years in the acting business in Los Angeles, appearing on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Comedy Central, and Sirius/XM Radio. I travel from Detroit.
I was contracted by Henry Ford Health System August 2016 - Present to shadow their providers and coach them. I have since coached and shadwoed 600+ Physicians and seen great results.
