Elliott Lewis

DC, US
Author / Television Journalist / Diversity Speaker

Elliott Lewis is a self-proclaimed "MBA, PhD" - a Madcap Biracial American and Promoter of Human Diversity! Throughout his career as a television news reporter, he's been mistaken for everything from Hispanic to Egyptian. In one instance, a television viewer began to adjust the color on his TV set in an effort to determine Elliott's racial identity.

Off-camera, Elliott is an energetic, uplifting, thought-provoking, and surprisingly funny public speaker on multiracial identity and interracial family issues. He has audiences learning and laughing with his "Top Ten Signs You're Living the Multiracial Experience," "The Racial Ink Blot Test," "Come To Your Census Form," "Seven Habits of Highly Multiracial People," and "Integration Medication" for treating stress, anger, fatigue, anxiety, and other "diversity-related tension."

Elliott was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was raised in Pullman, Washington. Both of his parents are a mixture of black and white.  He believes individuals of mixed race should be free to identify themselves racially in whatever manner makes sense to them given the totality of their life experience.  He considers himself "more black than white, but more biracial than anything else."  He currently lives in the Washington, DC area.
