Leadership educator and scholar-practitioner, Kathy Bishop calls for each of us to lead spirit in action in order to make positive changes in the world today.

Dr. Kathy Bishop has over 30 years of leadership experience spanning multi-disciplinary fields including counselling, social services, not for profit agencies, small business development and adult education. As a scholar-practitioner with her own consulting business since 2000, she started as a registered social worker, has lead organizations as an executive director (Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce & Woodwinds Community Support Society) and attained her PhD in interdisciplinary studies (Leadership and Applied Theatre).

Kathy is currently an associate professor and program head for Royal Roads University's Master's of Arts in Leadership, one of Canada's largest graduate programs promoting leadership development, where she also teaches foundational leadership theory and advanced action research in online, blended, and face-to-face settings. She specializes in values-based leadership (program head for the graduate certificate) offering theory and practice of how to align personal and organizational values for true culture and organizational innovation. She is passionate about teaching leadership and engaging in diverse approaches to research. Her research interests include creative and co-creative methods, health and wellness, reflexivity, ethics, and utilizing action-oriented methodologies for positive organizational change.

Through her business, Kathy offers dynamic leadership workshops, keynotes, and executive coaching. She contends that different ways of knowing, doing, perceiving, and relating can lead to collectively creating innovative solutions to local and global challenges.
