Founder, former President, and Award Winning Creative Director, of a marketing communications firm, David has been an entrepreneur from age 23, He grew his first company from a one person studio to a full service advertising agency in two years. He followed that success, nurturing the company through a major recession, to grow it to a full service marketing company with a staff of 23. David has founded 7 companies. Today he is the President of Spark Communications Inc., a marketing communications firm and he continues to consult with corporations.

David was a member of NSA Speakers and helped found CAPS.

He is a Past-President of the Calgary Chapter (twice), a Past National Director and a co-chair of the 2016 National Convention for CAPS (the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers). He was also the founder, and President for 8 terms, of the Western Chapter of the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication.  He is a former Chair of Calgary's Small Business Week, and two Calgary Chamber of Commerce committees, as well as an advisor and seminar leader for CYBF (the Canadian Youth Business Foundation - now Futurpreneer Canada). He has also been a board member of numerous not-for-profit organizations.
