Dalton's expeditions have taken him into the Arctic, overland across the Sahara many times, through the deserts of the Middle East, into the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan, and canoeing on Canada's wild northern rivers. He was the organizer and leader of a CBC-TV filming expedition to the Saharan salt mines of Taoudenit in northern Mali, and participated in a TV documentary on great Canadian Rivers for the Discovery Channel.
Magazine assignments have taken him from the Australian Outback to Vanuatu and from the Falkland Islands to the Sundarbans jungle of Bangladesh, in addition to many African countries and most Middle East nations. His love of boats has been shared through his stories of working as a crew-member on the mighty windjammers of the Russian and Ukrainian tall-ship fleets.
Dalton is a lively speaker on subjects as diverse as the will to succeed, teamwork, and history.
