As the Recruiting Battalion Commander, I was actively managing a culture change for the battalion, which included non-military sales and leadership training as a key component. Dr. Magee provided relatable tools to our recruiting force resulting in an approximate 20% increase in enlistments the next quarter following his training. The positive, long-term impact is still felt within the Recruiting Battalion. The young recruiters at the time of Dr. Magee’s initial training are now team leaders and are highly effective at training their teams on the proven concepts provided to them by Dr. Magee. The sustained success of the Recruiting Battalion has enabled the Missouri National Guard to grow force structure to this day while other states are being forced to reduce structure.
