Marker is an advisor to foundations and philanthropists, a professor of philanthropy, and strategist. He has been a professor, ceo of a major foundation, a private sector strategy consultant, and sr. exec. of an international ngo/npo. He has taught religion, philanthropy, and post-modernism at the University level, and has lectured in 40 countries on 5 continents and throughout the USA. His expertise is philanthropy trends, strategy. and philanthro-ethics, particularly for high net-worth individuals, families, and foundations. He also serves as faculty co-director of the UPenn High Impact Funder Academy.
Marker's career was profiled in a feature length article in Lifestyles magazine, his work the subject of an extended interivew in Forbes, and has been quoted in many more publications, he has received outstanding teaching awards, and is a frequent commentator on issues in philanthropy. His book, Saying 'Yes' Wisely: Insights for the Thoughtful Philanthropist [Blooming Twig Books, 2011] is available in its third edition.
