At 17, Patrick wanted to take his life. The books he read on the topic of personal development saved his life. In 1996, Patrick attended a seminar by the American speaker Tony Robbins. I decided that day that I wanted to become an inspirational speaker himself. But a big obstacle was in front of him, Patrick was afraid of public speaking. He then followed a course by Dale Carnegie then joined the Toastmasters organization. He gave his fist professional presentation in 1996... a disaster! But, to his own surprise and with a lot of perseverance, on July 14th, 2002, Patrick became the first person in Quebec to have earned the "Certified Speaking Professional" (CSP) designation. This designation is the highest designation given by the International Federation for Professional Speakers. Since 1980, less than 10% of the membership have earned this designation.

In 2015, at the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) convention, Patrick Leroux CSP HoF was named as the 2015 inductee to the Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes speakers both for their excellence as professional speakers and for their contribution to the profession. Patrick Leroux becomes the 30th inductee into the Hall of Fame which was established to recognize outstanding excellence as a professional speaker and dedication to the professional speaking industry by educating others to excel. Members are selected by their peers in recognition of their contributions. Patrick is also the founding president of the Montreal chapter (1998) of the CAPS, a National board member of CAPS (2003-2004), and the author of nine books on the subject of motivation, sales and personal and professional development.

In Canada, the United States, Europe and the Middle East, he has given more than 1 750 presentations to over 300 000 people. He speaks mostly at conferences and sales conventions, helping his participants realize their full inner potential and achieve the highest level of success in all aspects of their lives.
