Pam Lawhorne
Pam Lawhorne, Chief Empowerment Officer of Empower U, Incorporated is a visionary and enterprising entrepreneur who has more than a decade of experience in small business development, sales, marketing and management. She’s an empowerment coach that teaches individuals how to overcome their adversities and connect with themselves in order to become a person of action and live their life to the fullest potential!
She’s the author of "From Minimum Wage To Getting Paid! - How To Become A Successful Entrepreneur With No Money, Education Or Experience!" and has recently completed her most recent book titled “10 Tips To Help Teens Seize Their Entrepreneurial Dreams” which is scheduled to be released in the later part of 2007. Pam is also a syndicated columnist who writes articles on empowerment, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Her articles appear nationally in newspapers, magazines, and on business websites and on-line publications.
Pam and husband Chris have two children and they reside in Union County, North Carolina. Together with her husband and business partner, she’s started several successful companies which include a real estate investment group, a real estate sales firm, a mortgage company, a marketing company and her most recent venture – a training and consulting firm.
Pam is a motivating speaker who brings knowledge, enthusiasm, and a refreshingly unique approach to everything she does. Pam first noticed that she had a passion for empowering others when she began doing presentations for one of her companies several years ago. While she was there to give them details on her company’s services, in the end she always found herself giving the group some type of inspirational story or uplifting message.
As the years passed, and her businesses grew, Pam took on ‘part time’ speaking engagements but decided to put her dream of pursuing speaking and consulting 'full time' on hold. Several more years passed and even thought they were doing well financially, Pam found herself growing more, and more discontent. She yearned for an opportunity that would allow her to pursue her passion for speaking and empowering others on a full time basis.
She desperately wanted to use the experience she’d obtained as an entrepreneur to help out others individuals who wanted to start their own business. She had grown tired of being locked into a business that did not allow her to make a personal contribution to society so in 2005 she launched what was then known as Motivation-In-Motion, Incorporated.
Motivation-In-Motion, Incorporated was created to assist in the endeavors of new business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. In the Summer of 2007 the decision was made to change the name from Motivation-In-Motion, Inc to Empower U, Inc to reflect the path and new direction of the company.
The name change came a year after Pam released her first book and saw the need (and heard the request) for training programs that was in-depth, economical and affordable. During her release and book tour she was overwhelmed by the response she received from individuals who were looking for direction and were not sure where to turn.
She saw that there was a market of under-served individuals who needed and wanted information so she wanted to create a training programs that would allow these individuals to develop and expand their lives both personally and professionally.
Pam set out to develop programs that would combine information with motivation so that people would the have the tools necessary to change their lives and the faith and belief that it can actually be achieved!
Pam came from humble beginnings and having no formal education, she knows first hand how difficult life can be when you do not have the right tools. She considers herself very fortunate because through books, classes, life experience and training programs she was able to break herself free from the cycle of poverty.
She also knows the grim reality of what her life would be like had she not pursued some form of education which is why her mission, and her passion is to help empower others so that they too can have the opportunity to live their lives at full potential.
Despite all of the obstacles that she has overcome, Pam continues to push forward and strive to create a better life for herself and for others. Pam is a true visionary with a passion to make a real difference in people's life. She is living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to. Her life and personal struggles is a true testimonial for her uncanny ability to address issues from a perspective others cannot. One of her favorite motto's is “it’s not where you start out – it’s where you end up!”
In her presentations she uses a mixture of humor, substance and her own life’s journey to teach others how they can use creativity to take control of their future. Don’t miss an opportunity to be the very best that you can be! Let her help you take things to the next level!
"If someone tells me that I can't then I know that I can. If someone tells me that I won't then I know that I will. If someone tells me that it's impossible then I know it will be hard but I will try anyway. You see, success to me is not optional. It's an absolute necessity!" Pam Lawhorne
