Kathy Griffin Star of The D-List

A native of Chicago, Kathy Griffin moved west to pursue an acting career. After joining the famed Los Angeles Groundlings comedy improvisational troupe, Griffin began attracting attention in television. Griffin just completed taping her comedy special, The D-List, based on her acute celebrity observations for the Bravo Network. The D-List is scheduled to air in March. She also taped Allegedly, her comedy DVD due out in 6 months.

Up next for Griffin is a production of her sitcom for NBC entitled The D-List, which will chronicle Griffin's life as a D-List celebrity. Griffin has an incredible love of reality television, which was clear when she participated in and won Celebrity Mole on ABC.

She recently hosted the NBC reality series Average Joe. Griffin is probably best known for her 4-year sting on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan as Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' acerbic colleague. Prior to that, Griffin had many guest-starring roles on such series as Mad About You; ER; Ellen; and also appeared as the recurring character, Sally Weaver, on Sienfeld.

After her various TV guest spots, Kathy began gaining notice as a Stand-Up comedian and landed her own HBO Hour Comedy Special. She also supplied the voice for Alice, the triangle-haired woman on the animated series, Dilbert. In 1998, HBO gave Griffin her own HBO One-Hour special, A Hot Cup of Talk. Along the way, Griffin has been seen regularly on many MTV shows, Co-hosted The Billboard Music Awards three years in a row; appeared on numerous talk shows including Politically Incorrect, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and Live with Regis and Kathy Lee; she has written articles for GLAMOUR and IN STYLE Magazines; and has been featured in the films Pulp Fiction, The Cable Guy, It's Pat, Four Rooms, Muppets From Space, Where's the Caboose, Dill Scallion, The Intern, On Edge, and the animated feature, Lion of Oz.

She has appeared in a dual role on the X-Files and in Eminem's video, "The Real Slim Shady", co-directed by Dr. Dre. She hosted VH1's Behind the Music Anniversary Special and supplied a voice for the animated series, The Simpsons. Griffin also hosted the MTV series, Kathy's So-Called Reality. When she isn't busy working, Griffin can still be seen across the country doing stand-up at colleges, theaters and comedy clubs.
