Sourena Vasseghi’s audiences don’t leave feeling vaguely inspired. They leave armed with a list of tools to start making changes.

A USC Marshall School of Business graduate, three-time author, TEDx speaker, and executive coach, Sourena has spent more than two decades studying what it actually takes to achieve personal and professional goals — reading voraciously, learning from mentors and peak performers, and building a business and a body of work in the process. His conclusion is deceptively simple: most people aren’t held back by a lack of motivation. Their narrative holds them back— a story about who they are and what they’re capable of, often formed long ago. Before anything else changes, that story has to change.

That insight anchors his signature framework, the 5 Keys to an Amazing Mindset: rewrite your narrative, improve your habits, deal with challenges, engage with others, and find clarity. It’s paired with the philosophy that runs through all his work — a sacrifice is a payment for a dream. These aren’t slogans. They’re structured, teachable tools.

These tools were tested in the fire of life of a man who always aspired to live fully and abundantly. Sourena was born with severe cerebral palsy. He uses a wheelchair, needs assistance with daily activities, and speaks with a significant speech impediment that requires interpretation — which is why he’s known as “the speaker who can’t speak and the writer who can’t write.” Because he has had to engineer solutions most people never have to consider, his perspective on mindset, habits, and challenges is unusually rigorous and unusually practical.

On stage, that combination lands as something audiences rarely expect: intellectually substantive, genuinely funny, and immediately useful. People don’t leave asking, “How did he do it?” They leave convinced of their ability to do it as well.

Sourena is the author of four books: Big Dreams Take Small Sacrifices, Love Your Life and It Will Love You Back, and Sourena's 5 Keys to an Amazing Mindset. His work has been featured on NBC, ESPN, and BBC Capital, among others.

We’ve had him speak to college freshmen, and the kids were glued to their seats. We’ve also had him speak to football teams at USC, and they just took the message right to heart. (It) helped them a lot in their thought process. Very, very motivating, very entertaining, worth every second that you can have him come and talk.

Let the wisdom and joy and love in this book wash over you. Soak up every word. I don’t want to sound like a cliché, but this book can change your life. My guess is that you’ll never see your ordinary life as ‘ordinary’ ever again.
