Dr. Tammy is, first and foremost, a mom to three adult sons and wife of 34 years to Scott. As a life-long learner and leader, she prides herself on providing engaging, inspiring, and relevant presentations on the basis that we all have room to grow, regardless of our field or profession. Her belief is that unlocking learning related to literacy, leadership, and personal growth allows each of us to live up to our fullest potential and purpose!
In the area of education.....As a longtime member of the Academic Language Therapy Association and International Dyslexia Association, and her personal connection with her son's dyslexia and literacy struggles, she has actively worked to raise awareness about issues surrounding literacy for more than 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Advanced Education Specialist, and Doctoral Degree. Dr. Tillotson first became an Academic Language Therapist and Dyslexia Interventionist to assist her youngest son and other children who faced challenges with learning to read, write, and spell. Upon realizing the need for educators to have this knowledge, she became determined to provide consultation and professional development with school districts and individuals throughout the country. In an effort to stay grounded in the application of information she educates others about, Dr. Tillotson continues to provide private practice instruction with children, is a national trainer with LETRS, taught as an adjunct professor, and consults with schools across the country.
In the area of leadership....Her background and experience as an entrepreneur, community leader, life-long learner, and Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach has provided a foundation of personal and professional knowledge that she shares in an effort to build others' skills. Directing and leading nonprofit and civic organizations, training individuals in programs grounded in research, and collaborating with industry leaders allows Dr. Tammy to raise awareness, create opportunities to expand training and education in literacy and leadership, and build connections for individuals, parents and professionals who can better support our future generations.
