After people hear me speak, they will feel calmer and more in control in knee-jerk moments, because my keynote and workshops give them simple tools to shift what they notice, interrupt autopilot reactions, and choose responses that build trust and connection.

When people work in high-stress, people-centered roles, negativity rarely looks dramatic. It looks like short patience, mental fatigue, second-guessing, emotional exhaustion, and autopilot reactions that affect how they communicate, respond, and work with others.

I help people shift perspective so they can reduce negativity, respond with intention, and perform better under pressure.

After hearing me speak, audiences feel more in control in knee-jerk moments, because my keynote and workshops give them simple tools to shift what they notice, interrupt autopilot, and choose responses that build trust and connection.

I love to help the helpers. I serve people in high stress, high responsibility roles, especially healthcare, education, hospitality, food services, women's leadership, community organizations, and correctional settings.

I bring a rare combination of lived resilience, media polish, and trauma-informed insight. With a background as both a television journalist and hospital chaplain, I know how to connect quickly, speak with depth and clarity, and give people practical mindset tools they can use in real life.

I use storytelling to help people notice their internal dialogue, challenge what is not serving them, and shift their mindset. This includes three sticky mental tools for immediate change in how they view and communicate with themselves and others: "What you look for is what you'll see." "Think about what you're thinking about." and "Holding two truths."

Audiences leave more self-aware, more empowered, and better equipped to lead and live with intention.

A little about me: I'm the creator and host of The Kindness Podcast, named by Oprah Magazine as a top happiness podcast, and the author of five books, including The Negativity Remedy (Baker Publishing).

My work has been featured by NBC Nightly News, Hallmark Channel, People Online, Reader's Digest, and Woman's World, and I've spoken at more than 200 events reaching more than 30,000 people.

A few of my favorite plot twists: I won a car on The Price is Right, found our family home on HGTV's House Hunters, and won the final bonus round on Wheel of Fortune with a puzzle solve that, fittingly, was "A Positive Viewpoint." Sometimes the universe hands you your own tagline!

If you're looking for a speaker who will help your team crack open their perspective, bring sharper self-awareness, and leave with practical tools to lead under pressure, I'd love to connect. Let's talk about bringing this work to your next event.
