To help others understand the strength and resilience of women by speaking about domestic violence, sexual assault and the overall effects of trauma.

My name is Nancy and I have worked for over 30 years in the Social Services field. I currently work as an Adult Protective Services Investigator, tasked with investigating abuse, neglect, self-neglect and financial exploitation for persons over 60 years of age and vulnerable adults ages 18-59 years. I have done this for 11 1/2 years. Prior to that, I worked in the field of domestic violence for about 20 years in for a domestic violence program in various roles, group facilitator, program coordinator, shelter coordinator, trainer for staff/volunteers, grant writer and reporter, etc. I have worked with victims/survivors and also with batterers. For about seven years I facilitated a batterer's group for male offenders who were court ordered. I became certified and wrote my own curriculum. I have experience training, educating and presenting on these topics. I have also taught a course on Family Violence at a local college and facilitate groups for female and male inmates at the local detention center.
