Prior to MissionLabs.ai, John was the Chief Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Officer for Guardian Life Insurance (GLIC) from 2023–2025. Guardian is a 160-year-old Fortune 250 company with over $800 billion in life insurance in force, $95 billion in assets under management, and $11 billion in capital, as of February 2025.
In this role, John partnered with the businesses to spearhead enterprise transformation, automation, transparency, and strategic execution to continuously improve delivery, reduce waste, increase productivity, and ultimately positively impact GLIC's bottom line.
Previously, John was with J.P. Morgan Chase's (JPMC) from 2013–2023 in several senior leadership positions of increasing responsibility. As Chief Operating Officer of Chief Technology and Data Offices, he was responsible for overseeing the firmwide strategy, governance, and risk & control guardrails for the firm's public cloud and artificial intelligence & machine learning platforms.
As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Global Technology (GT) and Chief Information Office (CIO) from 2018–2020, John oversaw Global Technology Strategy, established an Office of the CIO to bring structure and repeatability to the complex CIO role, and standardizing Executive Management Reporting. As CFO, COO, & Head of Strategy, Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Technology, Operations, & Digital (2014–2018), he led a team of ~150 individuals, helped to orchestrate a >$2.0 billion global budget covering >10,000 in headcount, in >50 locations, with ~700 applications, and >175 vendors.
From 2009–2013 at German multinational investment bank and financial services company Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB), John held a number of technology and COO leadership positions.
John began his career with Broadridge and the New York Stock Exchange (SIAC); as a management and technology consultant; as a financial services lead for a technology company, BEA Systems (acquired by Oracle); and as a founder of a related system integration firm, Prime Business Consulting.
John graduated with a Masters of Business Administration in Finance & Management and Masters of Science in Computer Science from New York University, as well as a Bachelor of Science, Computer Science from Georgetown University. John is also a certified AWS Machine Learning Specialist, AWS Cloud Solutions Architect, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 5 Agilist. He lives in Stamford, CT with his 19- and 17-year-old daughters and his 14-year-old son. He enjoys skiing, sailing, and maximizing his time with friends and family when not at work.
