Debbie Maund

WA, US

My goal is to inspire professionals in the facilities & project management community; military or government sector, & those looking for growth & mentoring within the faith community.

Debbie Maund graduated from Norwich Free Academy Norwich, CT in 1990. She earned an associate’s degree from Everett Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Cum Laude) in Organizational Management at Northwest University, Kirkland, WA. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. She has spent 30+ years working for the federal government and the Army Reserve. She currently serves at the IRS as the Chief of Facilities within the PNW overseeing 5 states to include Alaska, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. This geographic area encompasses 700Kusf, $11M of rent, and 14 federal buildings and 10 leased locations.

On 30 September 1993, she married Bob Maund of Philadelphia. They have no biological children of their own but raised Debbie’s little sister Joanna. Debbie often says her unit Soldiers are her “kids” from all over the world.

Chaplain Maund joined the Army Reserve in March 1990 as an E-1/PVT with the 819th Station Hospital, later flagged as the 405th Combat Support Hospital (W. Hartford, CT). She served as a clerk (71L, later 42A).

She moved to Seattle in 1993, served in the 174th Corps Support Group and at the 70thRegional Readiness Command, Seattle, WA. In 1997, she left her federal position and served as an Army Reserve Recruiter (79R). That position led her back to the USAR. As an E-6/SSG, she requested a will-train slot as a Chaplain’s Assistant (56M). That decision would begin her call to ministry and a deployment to Iraq in 2007 under the 128th Chaplain Detachment, attached to 1st Armored Division at FOB Speicher.

When she returned in 2008, she was commissioned into the Chaplain Candidate Program (CCP). She was then ordained/assessed as an Army Reserve Chaplain in 2013 serving with the 494th Brigade Support Battalion at JBLM. In 2016, she moved to the 104th Training Division (LT) at JBLM and served as the Deputy Division Chaplain. In 2018, in preparation for USAR retirement, she transferred to the 88th Readiness Division (Ft. McCoy) and served as the Family Life Chaplain. Ultimately, she changed her mind about retirement and transferred to the 654th Regional Support Group (Tacoma, WA).

She later transferred to the 364th ESC Support Command (Expeditionary) deploying to Kuwait 2024-2025. She served as an Operations Chaplain managing chaplain coverage throughout 9 countries within the middle east to include Kuwait, Iraq, Israel, Cypress, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cypress, and Bahrain.

She is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College (Resident) Course at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, earning a Certificate in Homeland Security and Defense Support of Civilian Authorities (DSCA). Basic Training; Advanced Individual Training (AG/71L); Army Recruiter Course (79R); the Chaplain Officer Basic Course (CHBOLC/56A); Chaplain Captain Career Course (C4); Operational Religious Senior Leader Course (ORSLC) all at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She is a graduate of the Senior Unit Ministry Team Orientation Course (SUMTO).

She presently serves as the Family Life Chaplain, 364th Support Command (Expeditionary) Marysville, WA. In addition to spending time with her husband Bob, of over 30 years, she leads a national veteran ministry; volunteers in the veteran community; and works out in her home gym.
