Gretchen Johnson

BA, MSA, CPECOH, US

Former trusted HR Leader partnering with leaders to help them maximize their individual and organizational potential.

As a Life and Leadership Coach, Speaker, and Trainer, I am super passionate about the development of people.

I started my coaching business in 2015 out of a desire to see people in general grow and be at their best.

I utilize positive psychology which is the scientific study of human flourishing and the strengths and virtues that enable people to thrive. The goal is to boost social and emotional wellbeing which cultivates happiness, strength, and resilience. Our brains are hardwired to look for what’s wrong. Strengths take us from “what’s wrong” to “what’s strong”!

Some of the common developmental goals that have been the focus include:

§ Relationship building

§ Strategic thinking

§ Maximizing leadership presence

§ Building high-performance teams and working across cross functional teams

§ Maneuvering through politics in the workplace

§ Interpersonal skills – including influencing, motivating, presenting, resolving conflict, and delivering bad news

§ Effective communication (both interpersonal and professional)

§ Performance management

§ Change management

§ Emotional intelligence – self-recognition, self-management, social recognition, and social

I am here to add value, making a difference in the lives of the people that I serve.

I earned my Master’s degree in Human Resources from Central Michigan University, and my Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Michigan University. I have received formal coach training and certification as a Personal and Executive Coach through the Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute (CAPP), International Coach Federation (ICF), and am certified in emotional intelligence and DISC.

I am a certified John Maxwell Leadership team member, and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) nationally and Ohio Valley ICF Chapter locally, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) nationally and Butler/Warren County SHRM local chapter.
