Lisa is originally from Daytona Beach, Florida, and resides near Auburn, Alabama. Lisa has four brothers and a step-sister. She has remained single with no children. She attended Auburn University and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1995.
Although with a degree in Animal Science, Lisa committed to ministry and her first position after graduating was serving as a campus minister with the Wesley Foundation at the University of West Alabama (UWA) in Livingston, Alabama.
In 1998, with the help of Auburn and UWA students, she started Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM), a volunteer home repair ministry. In 2001, she moved back to the Auburn/Opelika area to base ARM from Lee County. ARM grew to three locations in Alabama hosting church teams from around the country providing critical home repairs to disadvantaged people in rural Alabama. Furthermore, ARM developed children's day camps in local communities.
Lisa enlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard in 1990 and was commissioned in 1995. She has over 35 years of service with two combat tours. Mostly a logistician, she also served with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units. She is currently a Colonel serving as the Brigade Commander for the 122nd Troop Command in Selma, Alabama containing most of the state's rotor wing assets.
She has a Master's in Counseling and Psychology, a Master's of Christian Leadership through Asbury Theological Seminary, and is a graduate of the Army War College with a Master's Degree in Military Strategic Studies.
Lisa is an Ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church and a licensed home builder in Alabama. She loves to read, be outdoors, and enjoy good coffee with friends. She has a dog named Starbuck. She is dedicated to the ministry and serving others.
