Wellness is my passion!  Whether it's on a personal or professional level, it's a topic that affects everyone.

I am Cassandra Washington, and speaking about wellness brings me much joy. My mission is to help people discover the dimensions of wellness and how it affects them personally and professionally. For many years, I served as an educator and school leader. I didn't think much about my health and wellness during my leadership role. It wasn't until my health suffered from stress and burnout that I realized something had to change.

Afterward, I made my wellness a priority. I studied and learned about the dimensions of wellness, setting boundaries, and taking responsibility for my well-being. From there, I begin to spread the knowledge and advocate for the wellness of educators. Then, I began speaking at domestic and international conferences about wellness, self-care, and combatting stress and burnout. Also, I talked about wellness on podcasts and created a weekly Wellness Wednesday video series on social media platforms. Advocating for wellness is not just for educators because my topics can reach various audiences and be modified to fit your needs.

Some other areas of my professional life include creating travel, wellness, and lifestyle content. I found and published two blogs, Sustah-Girl Chronicles (www.sustah-girl.com) and Teach and Take Time for You (www.teachandtaketime4u.com). In addition to having experience creating content, I am an experienced educator and instructional designer. I served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal within the Chicago Public Schools System for many years.

Advocating wellness includes writing and publishing books and journals. My published books are Teach and Take Time for You: Strategies and Tips to Reduce Stress and Burnout and Meet Them Where They Are: Ten Tips to Improve Student Engagement.  The published journals are Wellness Chronicles: A 15 Week Journal and In My Words: A Personal Journal

I am an experienced public speaker, professional development facilitator, and life/wellness coach.  I have spoken and facilitated sessions at domestic and international conferences, including ULEAD, Hawaii International Conference for Educators, Teacher Self-Care Conference, etc.  My topics include Educator Wellness, Leadership Trauma, Adaptive Leadership, Self-Care, Trauma, and Social-Emotional Learning. In the past, I collaborated and produced a podcast From the Principal's Chair, which focused on topics about school leadership.

My educational background includes an earned B.A. in Political Science, an M.A. in Teaching, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership. I am also a Level 2 Certified Life Coach. I live in the Midwest, where I enjoy photography, travel, writing, and being outdoors. My goal is to spread wellness wisdom to as many people as possible.
