Dr. Richardson is the President/CEO of Axis Leadership, LLC. His company conducts leadership training and project management consulting focused on personal, organizational, and community development. Dr. Richardson is also a Certified Member of the John Maxwell Leadership Team. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent most of his childhood growing up in Lima, Ohio. He is an honorably retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel having served over 22 years on active duty as an aircraft navigator in command & control and surveillance/reconnaissance aircraft. He has combat time over the skies of Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
After retiring from the military, Dr. Richardson served as a technical lead and project manager at the Mercer Engineering Research Center and was part of the initial leadership team for the Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center in Warner Robins, GA. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Central Georgia Technical College, Wesleyan College and Mercer University, and as the Vice President, Student Affairs at Valencia College in Orlando Florida.
Dr. Richardson completed his undergraduate degree at the U.S. Air Force Academy and has master’s degrees in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Educational Leadership from Mercer University. Dr. Richardson is also a Certified Project Management Professional and has completed the Institute for Leadership and Management in Higher Education at the Harvard University Graduate School.
He resides in Bonaire, GA. and has been married to Felicia (Kimes) from Omaha, Nebraska for the past 30 years. They are the proud parents of three wonderful children: son Ryan (deceased), daughter Lyndsay (29), and son Nathan (23). He enjoys reading, playing basketball, recording voiceovers and audiobooks, and competing with family and friends to maintain 10,000 steps/day on his pedometer.
