Melanie Melanie Fox

Melanie Fox was born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island and Long Island, NY. She now lives in Manhattan, NY with her wonderful husband David. Melanie received a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics/Spanish and Master’s Degree in Linguistics from Georgetown University in Washington DC. Throughout her childhood, Melanie was exposed to prominent regional accents and a variety of world languages and dialects. Melanie has been coaching English as a Second Language and leading sales/client services for language ed-tech companies for the past 20 years. Alongside her experience in edtech she founded Speech Fox LLC to help clients globally speak clearly and confidently. Melanie recently launched a podcast called Hack that Accent for executives and entertainers alike.

At age 6, Melanie met her childhood best friend from China. She saw first-hand how the Yung family struggled to communicate in English and loved helping them, using improvised methods, to pronounce English. Also, during her study abroad in Salamanca, Spain, a student approached her in desperation after failing her program’s final English exam six times. With only three sessions of strategic prep, the student passed her test and graduated with a degree in “Inglés.” These are the events that inspired Melanie to make it her mission to be a speech coach for public figures and executives in accent reduction/modification as well as presentation and interview skills. Her gift is to help audiences around the globe to utilize their regional accents to illustrate their stories rather than avoiding them.

Melanie Fox now travels the world to live and virtual events helping men and women both personally and professionally plan and prepare their way to sounding clear, competent, and confident. She uses her linguistics background, and corporate leadership experience to help them apply her methodology on their pronunciation and overall presentation delivery.
