Dr. Mason currently serves as the Associate Director for the Washington University Cordell Institute, which focuses on the medical and legal issues of healthcare privacy in today’s rapidly changing world of medicine. She is the founder of Little Medical School, an award-winning educational organization and franchise with offices in more than 60 locations worldwide focusing on healthcare workforce development.
She is the former Chief Medical Officer for Centene Corporation, a Fortune 25 company that provides government-sponsored healthcare programs focusing on underinsured and uninsured individuals. During her tenure, Dr. Mason developed and executed nationally recognized clinical programs in various disease states designed to improve quality and reduce medical costs in a managed Medicaid and Medicare population, clinical policy, quality, and care coordination. She also founded the Joint Accredited Centene Institute for Advance Health Education, offering free education on the business of medicine for licensure to healthcare providers in 8 professions.
Dr. Mason is a board-certified internist and volunteers in safety net clinics and as an attending physician. In addition, She is an adjunct professor at the Washington University School of Law and teaches Health Policy in Brown School of Social Work. She is a long-time member of the Washington University School of Medicine Admissions Committee.
Dr. Mason serves on the Board of Directors of Dioun Health, a growing health care company providing our communities with high-quality, patient-centric care. An active member of the community, Mason has served on the National Board for Parents as Teachers, Oasis, and the Girls Scouts of Eastern Missouri. She is a member of the Forbes Business Council and is a frequent contributor.
Dr. Mason received her B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and her M.D. and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She has received alumni achievement awards from the University of Illinois and Washington University.
