Chief Frederick Charles Shelton (Retired) is a speaker, trainer and results coach, who is a facilitator for developing quality leadership, personal growth, establishing effective relationships and promoting teamwork and team leaders. He is a member of the John Maxwell Leadership Team, which currently trains leaders ranging from Fortune 500 companies, Presidents of nations to coaches and personal trainers. The John Maxwell method has been successful in impacting leaders in over 152 countries. Chief Shelton has dedicated himself to developing and training leaders at all levels. Like many of you Chief Shelton has heard the word leadership defined in many different ways over the years. It has been said that leadership is status or position, charisma and positive thinking. It’s all about decisiveness, leadership is only for a chosen few that can rise to top. There is a better way and a better definition of leadership. Chief Shelton has over thirty years of leadership experience as a law enforcement executive and in the military as a Training Non- Commissioned Officer and an Observer Controller/ Trainer in the U.S. Army Reserve he trained service members, to fight in the Global War on Terrorism. He has lead at all levels and has a desire to see all leaders rise to outstanding leadership practice, He strongly believes as John Maxwell states the definition of Leadership is influence, nothing more and nothing less, people are lead, however cattle are driven. A true leader uses his influence to get people to do things because they want to, not because they are pushed. Chief Shelton has a heart for leadership and personal growth, this desire was developed early in his life, this burning desire lead him to join The John Maxwell Leadership Team. He is an entrepreneur and has successfully started two businesses, Peace Be Still Outreach Center (501,3c) a Christian Counseling and Mental Health Coaching business as well as ESS Consulting and Training LLC, he serves as Executive Director for both organization. He is a Distinguished Toastmaster and serves as Area Director for District 43E, He is a member of Possum town Toastmaster Club #3843 additionally he serves as a volunteer chaplain, and various non-profit boards as a board member, and his Motto is meet the need. He is a retired law enforcement officer and retired military veteran U.S. Army.
His educational background includes a PH.D in Clinical Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary and he is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and a Certified Temperament Counselor, He received a Master of Science in Performance Improvement with distinction from Grantham University and a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from Grantham University (Psychology / Education). He also earned a Master of Religious Arts in Christian Psychology from Jacksonville Seminary. He is a member of the NCCA and AACC Christian counselor professional organizations. He is a Certified Master Mental Health Coach. He is an ordained and licensed Elder. He is a native of Chicago Illinois, and currently lives in Mississippi, loves to teach and serve people and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and traveling across the country, He is committed to being a lifelong learner
