Aka Mariam Ali Kerr

Mrs. Aka Ali-Kerr is the HR Director at The Confidante Hotel, Hyatt Corporation, in Miami Beach as of 9 January 2022. Previously, she worked as the HR Director at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad for 10 years. Aka's passion for service, is evidenced by the publication of her first book, "The Master Guide to Leadership through the Lens of Care," which she wrote during the pandemic, with the aim to assist potential and present leaders to become more effective in an evolving world where everything has changed, with the constant being...caring leadership.
Aka has a BSc in Psychology with a minor in Legal Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Miami and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the UWI-Institute of Business (IOB) in Trinidad & Tobago. Aka has 22 years in developing and implementing best-practice strategies in Leadership, Compensation, Recruitment & Selection, Training & Development, Employee Engagement, Performance Management and Industrial Relations.
