TRANSPARENT, AUTHENTIC and DIRECT, Mark challenges audiences and demonstrates how to overcome obstacles to create a better tomorrow!

THE SPEAKER

As the lead pastor at The Mount in Williamstown, Kentucky, Mark Messmore has experienced what other speakers can only talk about. Born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, Mark holds a BA degree from Kentucky Christian University and a Master’s Degree from Campbellsville University. Mark combines his preaching acumen, persuasive speaking skills, and real-life experience to help move people and organizations forward. Whether he is kicking off a conference at a trade association or assisting people to develop communication and leadership skills, his presentations result in greater self-confidence and personal growth. With an appeal that transcends age, culture, and occupation barriers, he offers the perfect combination of ideas, wit, and wisdom to be recognized as one of North America’s most unique faith-based speakers.

THE AUTHOR

In addition to inspiring people in his congregation and around the country, Mark is an accomplished, award-winning author, evidenced by Speak Up Talk Radio recognizing his book Simple Preaching Prep as a Firebird Book Award winner. Understanding that preaching is a challenge for even accomplished practitioners, Simple Preaching Prep is a guide for those who are new to the job, looking for new ways to reach their congregations, or stuck in a rut to prepare a sermon to be proud of. Mark’s ability to write in a way that attracts a reader and keeps their attention is why he received five stars from Readers Favorite and is a frequent guest on podcasts nationwide. Mark’s podcast appearances are full of helpful information, wisdom, and eye-opening insights. His writing and speaking style is succinct, straightforward, and thought-provoking.

THE PREACHER

From the moment Mark Messmore preached his first sermon at age 15, it was evident that he possessed an innate talent and confidence to captivate an audience. His approach to speaking with the proper perspective and preparation elevates him from good to great. He is passionate about making the Scripture come alive for the listener. Whether preaching at church or speaking at a corporate event, Mark makes the subject relatable and easy to understand. He motivates audiences not just to learn something but to do something. He is not afraid to be vulnerable and states that he made up some of his best sermons amid valleys. Speaking from his heart, he believes that what comes from the heart goes to the heart. A full-time minister since 2006, Mark has served in churches in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

THE PERSON

Mark, the father of two sons and two dogs, enjoys the freedom that running affords him in his spare time and has completed five full marathons and more than a dozen half marathons. Now living in Grant County, Kentucky, Mark has been married to his college sweetheart Kara, and for over twenty years she has had a hold of his heart. As a professional speaker, Mark believes that running is good for his body, increases his energy level on stage, and clears his mind for writing. He is an avid reader and relishes writing and, uniquely, computer programming, which he taught himself. Above all, he is passionate about helping others grasp and apply God’s Word through preaching and impacting people across the country through teaching wherever he is called upon to do it. Mark’s goal is to contribute as much as possible to building God’s Kingdom.
