The right mindset is everything! Chris brings over 30 years of military, corporate and ministry experience to inspire and challenge your team to their very best potential.

Chris Davis is an Executive Elder to the Senior Pastor of World Overcomers Church, a large and growing church in Memphis, TN. In his current capacity, he directs the activities of over 200 volunteers, from the ministers who provide care to its membership, to those who offer customer service, to over two-dozen connect groups designed to offer intimate relationship within the wider membership. Being an effective oral and written communicator is essential to success in this role, as Chris has served as a “go-to” trainer, spokesperson, and sermon speaker when designated. He has served in this calling since 2019.

Chris earned his “chops” as a communicator during his almost ten years of service as an Officer in the United States Navy, from 1995 to 2004. His time as Deputy Public Affairs Officer to Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command served as his primary training ground for effective communication. Arriving just two weeks following the attacks of 9/11, Chris learned quickly, and departed that assignment earning the Navy-Marine Corp Commendation Medal for his effective service, including crisis management, media response to query, dignitary visit management, and military spokesperson.

Immediately following his military service, Chris joined a local management team to Cintas, an industry leader in facility management, uniform sales and service, and first aid and safety. Responsible for inside sales to a customer base of almost 500 businesses of varying size, Chris more than doubled the sales of his department, firmly establishing his department in the company’s Million Dollar Club prior to his call to ministry in 2019.

Chris has a passion for communication, with a focus on delivering a potent message that at the same time offers clarity and simplicity. With an engaging speaking style that integrates stories and humor where appropriate, Chris delivers a message that will inspire and provoke action.

He operates by five tenets that he believes are essential to both personal and organizational culture:

Servant Leadership – An attitude of service leads to results. Period.

Perseverance – Never quit. Ever.

Loyalty – You thrive where you are planted!

Optimism – Don’t be the dark cloud in the group.

Passion – Be “all in.” Pursue something bigger than yourself.

Chris is a Maxwell Certified Speaker. He is also an entrepreneur, building a successful service business in his city. He earned a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from Naval Postgraduate School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tulane University.
