Bibi Pirayesh
Empowering therapists to shift from traditional models to radical love, I help you foster empathy, social justice, and resilience, building more authentic, effective, and inclusive healing practices.
I’m Dr. Bibi Pirayesh, an educational therapist, social justice advocate, and speaker dedicated to transforming the mental health landscape through the lens of radical love. Inspired by Audre Lorde’s belief in self-care as a form of political resistance, my work challenges traditional models of mental health, which often prioritize profit and diagnosis over genuine human connection. I guide mental health professionals to shift their practice toward empathy, social justice, and collective healing.
Over the years, I’ve built a career working with children and families as an educational therapist, helping students with learning disabilities navigate systems that weren’t designed for their success. This experience led me to realize that the problem wasn’t the kids who needed to change—it was the systems. I now bring that same focus to mental health professionals, helping them reflect on and challenge the medical models that perpetuate disconnection and inequality.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve trained future therapists and mental health professionals at the graduate level, empowering them to think critically about our existing frameworks. I’ve also spoken at prominent conferences, including TEDx, where I shared insights on how radical love can redefine therapy and create meaningful change in both personal and community healing.
My goal is to inspire professionals to reclaim their sense of purpose, advocate for systemic change, and foster therapeutic spaces that are as inclusive and compassionate as they are transformative.I’m Dr. Bibi Pirayesh, an educational therapist and advocate for transformative mental health.
