Patrick was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil to a Chinese-Indonesian father who escaped persecution in Indonesia and found refuge in Brazil, and a Bolivian-born mother whose parents immigrated to Brazil to find opportunity. After immigrating to the United States, Patrick graduated cum laude from High School in Houston, Texas and earned scholarships to Brigham Young University, where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information Systems. 


While at University, Patrick worked for Novell (the innovator behind computer networking) and created an international non-profit mentoring organization that connected aspiring individuals with their ideal mentors. Patrick conducted and facilitated interviews studying the lives of some of the most successful individuals in the world. Mentors included Jack Welch, David Copperfield, Stephen R. Covey, Stan Lee, Caterina Fake, Craig Newmark, James Baker, and many others.  He cherishes the personal coaching and mentoring he received from so many mentors. Stephen R. Covey even wrote his letter of recommendation to MBA School. Patrick graduated with his MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Management.
