NC, USGirard Newkirk is the Cofounder and CEO of Genesis Block. He is an alumni of the Google for Startups Black Founders Exchange and won the 2018 Regional Startup World Cup in Nairobi, Kenya. His startup KWHCoin was named a Silicon Valley Companies to Watch in 2018. Girard and his wife Tracey Newkirk were featured on PBS TV Startup TV in 2021 showcasing their work in promoting minority entrepreneurship growth. Girard serves on the boards of Cape Fear Museum, Wilmington Downtown Inc, Cape Fear Collective and Cape Fear Community College IT Advisory Committee. Genesis Block was the 2021 Coastal Entrepreneur Award Winner in the Professional Services Category.
