Michael Bellerose
PhD
DE, USHe is a husband to his beautiful wife Kym, of 22 years. A father to an incredible daughter, Kinsey. A United States Air Force Veteran of 28 years. An airline pilot, flying the Airbus 321 for a major airline. The founder and CEO of Race4Warriors, a nonprofit organization honoring and supporting our Middle East Veterans. Lastly, the founder and president of Dr Bellerose Enterprises, providing personal and team development programs to enhance organization at the tactical, operational and strategic level.
Michael grew up in the small town of Bow, New Hampshire. He graduated from Concord High School in 1986, a part of the class of Christa McAuliffe (Space Shuttle Challenger). Michael was never destined to be a traditional college student. However, entered college right out of High School in 1986, but only completed one year. Without passion, desire, and a clear dream he left college and joined the United States Air Force. On his journey he was challenged numerous times. When faced with new challenges, he tackled them with continual education through traditional Universities, Colleges, and developmental organizations. His educational journey was deliberate and purposeful. In the end he received three Associate Degrees (Criminal Justice, Human Resources, and Science and Technology), Bachelor of Science, MBA, a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, and numerous certifications. This educational approach allowed him to rise from leading three to a strategic leader impacting over fifty-three thousand. Because his journey was not a race to the top, his ability to influence and lead is steadfast and long lasting.
Throughout his life he always put people first, was valued based, and truly exemplified the qualities of a servant leader. The educational opportunities he accepted, he shared. For eleven years he was a lead facilitator on the Air Force Reserve Command's Senior Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Development program. He traveled the country with a team of twenty training thousands of Airmen in critical leadership principles. In 2007 he was hired by the USAF First Sergeant Academy as the AFRC Course Director. He quickly rose to Director of Operation, Director of Education and Commandant. Throughout his life he has never traveled alone. His passion has always been and will always be developing leaders to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Michael entered the Air Force on June 11, 1987, as an Airman Basic. He was initially assigned to Loring AFB (Strategic Air Command), Maine, during the Cold War. He spent seventeen years in Security Forces working as a patrolman, emergency service team member, fire team leader, flight chief, intelligence and investigations. In 2004 he was selected as a First Sergeant and spent his last eleven years as a servant leader at a Wing, Numbered Air Force, and Major Command. He retired on October 1, 2015 as a Chief Master Sergeant, First Sergeant (E9).
Since he was a child, Michael always wanted to fly airplanes for a living. In 1991 his dream became reality when he earned his Private Pilot's license. He continued his dream attending the University of Oklahoma and receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Aviation. After graduation he gained his flight experience through a myriad of jobs: flew tours in the White Mountains, flight instructed, ferried airplanes, corporate pilot, and more. It was not an easy road to travel. In fact, for a year he slept in his Jeep and showered at the Langley AFB gym before going to work. However, his passion, devotion, and support from his family allowed him to achieve his dream. Today, he flies the Airbus 321 for a major airline and enjoys every minute on the flight deck.
