At a recent Veterans event in Milwaukee, I had the pleasure of going to the wrong room at the right time. The signage outside of the room was incorrect, so the session I thought I was attending was not what I found. How serendipitous! I found Dan Deutsch speaking about leadership and tricycles. He had a great energy, messaging and connections with participants. After the session on leadership, I was hooked! A few of us chatted for some time on football and leadership. For those who know me, the football was ABOUT leadership. What a great speaker! I was so impressed with how Dane conveyed the information, especially when asked a question by someone who apparently didn't agree with all of what was being said. Dane was always so respectful and inclusive, never belittled anyone for their questions or opinions. Truly a class-A speaker/presenter. His slides were quality, his answers clear and informative, and I never heard him say "um" once!! (A personal pet peeve of mine and a sign of an uncomfortable speaker)

I watched Dane Deutsch deliver his AI Presentation at the Worden Avenue Exchange in Ladysmith, WI. Dane gave the audience a reason to listen to this important topic. His experience and education qualifications established immediate credibility. Dane took questions from the audience during the presentation and answered each question with patient consideration. He responded to each person's concerns. A key indicator to measure a successful presentation delivery is to witness the number of people engaging Dane at the end of the presentation. Our Group plans on inviting Dane back in the Fall for an update on the latest advancements and concerns on Artificial Intelligence.

Leading with character first and being successful in my career is due greatly to growing up as a gymnast in his gym. Dane is changing lives by speaking and teaching at the foundation of today's society, our youth. And also now with teaching young adults online at the college level! I was very excited to have him speak at the ABC HR Conference to bring his character training and leadership experience to the Wisconsin Construction Industry!

Coach Dane is a wonderful professor, who always has time for his students to answer questions. His lessons are easy to follow and have real-world value later after the course is completed. The topics covered in the course are modern and the problems posed by the course still are problematic in this period. Coach Dane breaks down these ethical problems in logical steps and helps us see all the sides to these problems. While writing my paper Coach Dane gave me some really good tips on how to better express my topic as well as helping me find some sources for my topic when I was having trouble. I am truly thankful to have him as my professor, and I hope to have him in future courses.

Coach Dane was one of the best professors I have ever had at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He is really easy to work with, and he has the ability to understand and work well with people easily. He is creative, caring, motivated, and always excited to share the latest technology news happening. He has perfect online hours and he's mostly online to chat if you have questions or ever struggle with the assignments. During the semester, I learned from him how to build a strong argument on social networking and what's ethical and unethical. I've never felt behind or stuck on any IT-related topic because coach Dane was always there to answer our questions. The class materials are always up to date. He always gave us Microsoft Forms to fill out during class to fill in the answers, and they were all very useful during the quizzes. Every four sessions, he made a Kahoot game to gather as much information as possible to help us prepare for the quizzes. Coach Dane was always by my side. Even on weekends, he was mostly online. I will say I was lucky to have him as an instructor, and most importantly, the UW-Stout is lucky to have him. He truly deserves more than 5 stars.

In The Tricycle effect, Dane lays out the fundamentals of leadership using a unique visual model along with powerful stories to clarify and convince us of the truth that we recognize so easily, yet struggle to live by. Character does count and character must always come first if we are to realize real success and significance in the end. So often we see the power of threes and Dane's tricycle analogy of the big wheel of character out front leading the two rear wheels of competence is simple and brilliant. I challenge all readers to saddle up with the content of his book and begin "triking." You will move ahead as a leader and in the process take others to a higher level.

I am very thankful to have recently had the opportunity and privilege of taking the Leadership Training Classes. When I heard about them on the radio a part of me wanted to take them, but the rest of me knew it was way out of my comfort zone. Despite the misgivings and butterflies, I made the call. That was the easy part. I remember walking across the parking lot the morning of the first class thinking I should probably just turn and run. From somewhere deep within the courage emerged to open the door and walk in. My fears soon vanished as I was warmly welcomed by Dane, and minutes later made to feel at home by Kerrie. From then on I was hooked! As we were taught, leadership is influence. I knew either positive or negative, I was being an influence in my sphere of relationships, especially with my kids. I also knew I needed more ammo than I had to raise 3 teenage boys to be successful leaders and team players. And ammo I got! Dane taught us much and many positive, practical insights I will use for the rest of my life, and had fun at the same time! Usually I'm not one for retaining a lot of information all at once, but the way the material was presented along with the excellent pictures, stories and illustrations it was absorbed easily. My daily dozen are a part of my life now and I plan on passing that down to my kids and future grandkids. There isn't a day that goes by that some remembered point doesn't pop into my head and I get back on track. Thank you, Dane, for the gift of transferring valuable information to others in such a humble and gifted way. You totally believe in what you teach and live it out in you

I just want to thank you for being such a positive light for students throughout this semester, especially during the switch from in-class to online. When signing up for classes, I was unsure of how this course was going to be-- I'd heard about the paper and presentation and I was a bit iffy on if I wanted to take the class or not. The way you structure this class is different than any other professor does (like the coaching sessions at the beginning of classes) and I'm really grateful that you are so open to students about your own experiences, career, and life in general. I talk to my twin sister about your class, and often she makes comments about how nice and motivational you seem & that she wishes she had a professor/coach like you. I've never had a professor as caring as you- going out of your way to make sure everyone is doing well in the class, get to know students, and coach your students. I've never had any sort of coach before; I never did sports and was never involved in much of anything like that, kind of always kept to myself, and lost my dad when I was 15 which has really shifted my life around even almost 10 years later, so it's really been a huge light to me, especially, and so I just wanted to thank you and hope that you continue to teach & be that light for others.

We all as students are in UW Stout to be empowered for COMPETENCE in our choice field of studies, but you did not leave us to that aspect of life alone, you introduced two other great values - COURAGE & CHARACTER that will determine the level at which our attained competences can take us individually in life. Truly, there is a limit that competence alone can take whoever possesses it but with these two values, there's no limit to the height that whoever possesses them can attain in life. Thank you for introducing us to "The Tricycle Effect" where you addressed those three core values. I enjoyed every class with you as it always starts with "THE WHITE BOARD" where you impact our lives with core values of life on every Tuesday and Thursday that we met. The power point slides, the pre-recorded videos, external videos that could enhance our knowledge of computer - Ethics, Privacy, Rights and Security. All these have helped me as a student to know what my rights and boundaries are, as well as where government has failed the citizens. I am sure of one thing that we your students will always remember your emphasis on those core values that you injected into our systems (minds) - hopefully, all of us will be able to pursue and lead with courage and character after we have attained competences in our life's professions. To you our new Cybertechnology Ethics students, be sure that Coach Dane Deutsch cares about your success both academically and in your life's career, and I can guarantee you will enjoy his coaching classes, notwithstanding, be ready to work! Coach Dane introduced us to one of the great world leadership mentors - John C. Maxwell, and I believe he will do so for your session as well. Thank you for seeing a leader in each of us, Coach D! Thank you for being who you are and thank God for your life. You are a role model and a Coach indeed!!!

You will get a great deal of knowledge on how to utilize the internet appropriately. You'll discover how to build a strong argument on social networking and what's ethical and unethical. ICT 215 was a bit challenging for me since I learned not only from the material but also from Coach Dane's teaching method. I've never felt behind or stuck on any IT-related topic. Coach Dane is always looking for creative methods to teach his students. His class materials are up to date. He gives students Microsoft Forms to fill out during class to fill in the answers, and they were all very useful during the quizzes. Every four sessions, he made a Kahoot game to gather as much information as possible to help us prepare for the quizzes. Coach Dane was always by my side. Even on weekends, he was mostly online. I used to contact him via Email or a chat on Microsoft Teams. By taking this class with Coach Dane, you will be a successful employee, because he prepares you on what is ethical to do at your employment for IT-related. At the end of this class, you will be able to build a strong argument project and a PowerPoint you could use and present to your employer. Thank you Coach for the wonderful semester.

For any student that will be taking the course keep in mind that being prepared for the quizzes is very important and they are open notes so take advantage of the recorded Zoom sessions if you have to and also use the provided study guides to help you along your journey. As for the paper, and presentation of ethical dilemma projects, if you can please avoid putting the work off to the side and get to work as soon as the course materials are available so that way you have time to write a great paper and do a fantastic presentation while also realizing if you develop great habits regarding time management and responsibility within your work ethic that you can go far anywhere your life whether it's doing well in other classes or at your workplace. Please remember that it won't be easy however, Coach Dane is there to make sure you succeed. Finally, even if you're doing well or not it doesn't hurt to take advantage of the extra credit opportunities the course provides you because you can receive many points to help boost your grade.

While I realize that this course is not over yet. I just wanted to thank you for being such a great professor. I have enjoyed your class and your excellent lectures. Before heading into this class, I have had a terrible experience with a different ICT class because the professor was overloading the workload of a simple general ed. course and threatened to lower grades for some students. Because of the experience with the other professor, it made me very anxious about parQcipaQng in an ICT class. However, I found that you were reliable, informative, and very kind to students who have questions. I found your lectures surprisingly much more interesting than the courses that I have a deep passion for, especially the days that I had very little sleep. Stout could not have chosen a better professor for this class. I hope you have a good night and I hope you keep being the great professor that you are today.

B.L.., Mother of Gymnast, Deutsch's Gymnastics Training Center

Deutsch's gymnastics has been a blessing for our daughter and our family. We've come to appreciate so many things during our time here. Professionalism on many levels. They have the knowledge and experience to get gymnasts to where they want to go. This is not true of all gyms and coaches, as we have personally found. Dane and Kathy are very purposeful in how they run their gym. From the music, they choose to play, to their attention with the gymnasts' health and safety. They have developed a culture of hard work and respect. These are valuable in and out of the gym. Meaningful conversations take place that have value in their content and add to the lives and the experience of the girls. No gossip or backbiting from the top down. The coaches model patience and perseverance - they encourage and correct. They are "injury aware," understanding a healthy body is needed for best performance. They are about the physical well-being of the gymnasts and can help to care for and allow time for healing for injuries. This also is not something found everywhere. So many things to say! I don't know how to say it all. But, thank you!

Hey Coach, I hope that all your family is healthy and doing well and I hope that you are having a great Christmas break! You are probably just si ng here wondering why I am emailing you. I just wanted to tell you something special that happened to me. Although, all my siblings and I know that there is no Santa, we have a tradi on of ge ng presents from "Santa", the night before Christmas. A while back I had men oned to someone in my family something about a certain book and to my surprise I got it from "Santa". My parents got me your book 'The Tricycle Effect', and I am super excited to get through and read it!! I was just wondering if maybe when I get back to school if you could maybe write something or sign my copy. Once again I can't thank you enough for what you have taught me over this past semester. You are truly the best teacher, mentor, Coach that I have ever had. Thanks for everything,

I cannot say enough about these masterminds! Talk about Iron sharpens Iron! I am walking away from this MM specifically with tools that I can immediately implement into everyday scenarios I face. Dane and the rest of the group were so great and open to listen, connect and give valuable insight. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's willing to show up and do the work with the goal of getting better every day!

I have never participated in a Master Mind before, but this was a great experience. The class helped keep me accountable for doing the assigned reading, but more than reading the book, discussing it with Dane and the rest of the participants brought a whole different level of understanding and implementation into my life. I enjoyed the experience so much that I have already signed up for Dane's next Master Mind class. Thanks for all your care and guidance Coach Dane.
