Lindsey Dawson

NZ, NZ
Writer and speaker, Warming Hearts - Expanding Minds
Lindsey is a former magazine editor who created three major New Zealand titles (More, Next and Grace) before branching out to focus on writing her own brand of fiction and non-fiction. Her latest novel, Lipstick in the Dust, is set in Tibet and is a fast-paced and original spin on what we mean by that small but powerful word - beauty. Other books were her first novel, Angel Baby, an interior design guide called the Next Book of Decorating for New Zealand and a personal growth guide, Pearls: Words of Wisdom from the Ocean of Life. A warm, dynamic and entertaining speaker, she does magazine and book reviews for New Zealand's National Radio, gives her own seminars, does MC duties and makes keynote speeches to a variety of audiences. Lindsey has helped create and run one-day fund-raising workshops for Auckland's Urban Goddess Trust, is a former member of the Broadcasting Standards Authority, and has been a judge for both the NZ Magazine Publishers' Association Awards and the Montana New Zealand Book Awards. She is also president of the National Speakers Association of New Zealand's Auckland chapter. Passions include her family (husband and two daughters), good books, fine wine, forest walks, world music and visiting places on the planet she's never been to before. She admits to watching too much TV, drinking too much coffee and being bad at housework.
