4) Is PowerPoint absolutely necessary?  Usually it seems boring to an audience to see slides with bullets.

PowerPoint is not mandatory but it certainly will not be bullet text.  Its part of the overall experience with images to embed the overall message.  There are even hypnosis type effects included.
