Hi! I'm Teresa Porter from Cary, NC. I'm a million-dollar grossing photographer, a TEDX Speaker, a Huffington Post published author, a part-time comedienne, and mom. I'm the one who always sat with the new kid in school, rocked an orange safety vest on safety patrol, and cried along with anyone who had their feelings hurt.
Now all that making people laugh, building quick rapport, and looking to the sky for creative inspiration mix together for a perfect combination. A little therapy for when you're feeling vulnerable. A little humore to remind you it's not that serious. A little safety-patrol-nerd-anxiety for understanding the things that hold us back. I have built a photography studio from an 8k annual grossing, kitchen-table-and-LazyBoy-Recliner studio to a full time, 6 figure Studio that performs in the top 10% of studios nationwide.
In a critically devalued industry, I encourage community over competition. I teach a free Business Mastery group for photographers to discuss business, profitability, and value vs. price. I know a rising tide raises all ships.
It's not always as easy. My viral blog post "So You're Feeling Too Fat to be Photographed" was picked up by Huffington Post. One of my photographs was featured in Rolling Stone. My husband and I celebrated the birth of our daughter. And a devestating car accident taught me that new growth comes from our broken pieces. Worst makes best.
