Sistah Iya Anyangō Yaa Asantewaa is a multi-award-winning Empowerment Freedom Coach building community through wholistic experiences.
As the CEO & Founder of The FLYY Movement, LLC, Sistah Anyangō is also a Motivational Speaker, Master Teaching Artist, Executive Coach, and Published Author. Sistah Anyangō provides unique and motivational experiences to enhance physical fitness and increase self-esteem and determination. Through dynamic programming, Sistah Anyangō empowers others to embrace the Freedom to Love the You in You (FLYY).
Serving a variety of diverse audiences, Sistah Anyangō designs and implements Movement, Mindfulness, and Moment programs for women aged 40+ to discover their authentic selves. She skillfully engages participants in Empowerment Freedom Coaching to connect with their limiting beliefs and heal personal trauma. She also curates captivating experiences that create change while supporting women in empowering themselves and finding SoulHappiness. Participants experience a journey from trauma to triumph and challenge to change.
Focusing on employee well-being, The FLYY Movement, LLC facilitates Executive Freedom Coaching, Professional Development, Team Building, Goal Setting, and Retreats for corporate organizations. These innovative Workplace Wellness programs help organizations create a Culture of Self-Care. Sistah Anyangō’s experience includes working with reputable organizations, including Catholic Charities, Inc., Asylum Hill Family Center, East Windsor Department of Children and Families, Sankofa Kuumba C.A.C., Inc., and the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
The FLYY Movement, LLC offers a signature series of offerings tailored programming for children, families, and organizations through strategic partnerships with schools, nonprofits, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions. Through expertly designed and choreographed curricula, Sistah Anyangō provides creative, fun, and invigorating programming that ensures loyalty among returning participants.
With over forty years of experience as a Dancer and Master Teaching Artist, Sistah Anyangō also served as a Visiting Lecturer for Trinity College, teaching African Dance and Culture. As a facilitator, she creates workshops on mindfulness using movement and music, healing from emotional trauma, self-love as a path to peace, and achieving inner soul happiness. She recently was the MC/Hostess for the Women in LeadHERship Summit. He moderated the event as well as facilitated a panel discussion with participants.
In an effort to increase access and eliminate barriers to accessing The FLYY Movement services, in October 2023, Sistah Anyangō launched The FLYY Foundation to provide financial assistance and scholarships to individuals throughout the community.
In 2023, Sistah Anyangō was named a Project REHAB Blackity Black honoree and a Community Kindness Hero by Liberty Bank and the Hartford Yard Goats. She was also voted Best of Hartford’s Health, Wellness, and Beauty in the Specialized Gyms category for 2023. In 2022 and 2023, she earned the ShopBlack CT Award for Best of Health, Wellness, and Beauty and the Phenomenal Women in Business award. Between 2017 and 2019, Sistah Anyangō received numerous awards, including Project Resiliency, Circle of Hands, Campaign for Peace, 100 Women of Color, You are Beautiful, and When Destiny Meets Purpose. In 204, Sistah Anyangō was recognized as recognized by the Women’s Inspirational Network as the Entrepreneur of the Year.
As a community leader, Sistah Anyangō serves on the Women’s Business Development Council’s (WBDC) Regional Business Advisory Board, and she is also a member of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Hartford Chamber of Commerce / MetroHartford Alliance, the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, and the Collaboration of Minority Women Professionals.
Sistah Anyangō received a Middle Management Certification through the City of Hartford’s Department of Families, Children, Youth and Recreation. She also holds a Family Development Credential through the UConn Center for the Study of Culture, Health, and Human Development (CHHD). Sistah Anyangō is a Phase 3 Trainee of the HFI Body Centered Psychotherapy Training Program through the Hartford Family Institute Center for Psychotherapy & Healing Arts.
