Rana Gujral

Rana is one of the best technology directors I have worked for. Rana has a unique combination of technical and people skills. He empowers his staff and has a knack of correcting their shortcomings while being unintimidating. Rana is a good mentor and is constantly encouraging his staff to do all the right things needed to grow in an organization. A well read individual, Rana is upto date on both technical and managerial best sellers. He takes time to identify with all the members of a team and no one is too insignificant for him. He is approachable, listens to the team's concerns and always is willing to help. He is a "no fluff: senior leader with a lot of technical expertise. It is easy to have technical discussions with Rana and he can see the trees and the forest fairly easily. I enjoyed working for Rana and I will work for him again in a heartbeat.

I have worked with Rana since he first joined Logitech two and a half years ago. It has been a sincere pleasure to conquer so many challenges, successfully launch a number of key products and be a part of the culture transformation in his leadership. Rana is an exceptional forward looking visionary, with great insights into market trends and opportunities. Coupled with this, he has in-depth knowledge of cutting edge technologies and tech trends. Even more so, he could effectively articulate his ideas and successfully convince executive management, peers, and subordinates enabling them towards a common vision. I was impressed with Rana as a people manager. Rana could identify key abilities of his subordinates and lead them towards their full potential. He consistently provided strong leadership and orchestrated his team towards success based on their abilities, and towards a common goal. Rana has excellent problem solving ability at both macroscopic and microscopic levels. This allowed him to lead his team in resolving many complex, intrinsic issues quickly, and to also avoid future occurrence of problem areas through process improvement. I would love to work with Rana again in the future, and strongly recommend him for any senior or executive management position.

Rana and I worked together for over 2.5 years at Logitech where I was impressed by both his technical skills and his people skills. He always stayed on top of the architecture and product design issues while also doing a great job on the organizational and people side during a challenging time at Logitech. He helped drive the growth (in head count and capability) of our engineering team in India, while also leading teams in the US. I highly recommend Rana.

I worked with Rana as a part of the leadership team for Logitech's Digital Home Group, where he headed up software engineering. Rana was a formidable presence on the technology front, where he regularly lead his team to deliver cutting edge solutions to complex technical challenges, in record time. This technical competency was matched with strong business acumen which he used to challenge and bolster the group's strategic direction, and to prioritize his team's work, accordingly. But perhaps Rana's greatest strength was his leadership, which was felt in every corner of the organization, resulting in his teams - and peers - performing at their very best. Few have even one of these traits, let alone all three. I hope to have the opportunity to work with him again one day, and would offer the strongest recommendation on his behalf.

Rana and I worked together as partners as part of Logitech's Digital Home Group leadership team. Rana headed our Software engineering organization during a time of transformation of our Harmony product line towards much more cloud-connectivity and mobile applications, certainly the most significant shift in years for Harmony. The way Rana solidified and further expanded our software organization across geographies, notably in North America and India, was impressive. His leadership, high sense of urgency and ability to drive execution was pivotal to the successful launch of breakthrough new products. I really enjoyed working with Rana and would look forward working again together. Any organization seeking to grow, structure and accelerate execution in a highly dynamic environment would greatly benefit from his leadership.
