Rafael Santana

Rafael Santana

TX, US
Merengue Band from Perth Amboy, NJ

Hi! and just to avoid confusion I wish to state that even though I play a few salsas, I am primarily a "Bachata" and "TIPICO" Merengue artist, which is played with the accordion and has a different rhythm. I am well known within NJ, NY, and PA, mostly by casual gigging and also by a few television presentations. I also have yearly tours to the Dominican Republic (where my music originates from). I am also the owner of the equipment and transportation used in most of my events which they can be seen easily by in Youtube by typing "Rafael Santana". I've rented my equipment and setup sound engineering and transportation for most of the Dominican Republic's Artists: Joe Veras, Zacarias, Luis Vargas, Alex Bueno, Banda Gorda, El Prodigio, Geovany Polanco and the list goes on... I can do sound for my own band when necessary but REALLY prefer not to since playing two lead instruments, singing AND doing sound is quite a handful. Fittingly releasing my first album of which 3 songs are already sounding in "La Mega & La Chivirica" radio stations of Santiago and La Vega of the Dominican Republic. From the age of 13, I've always taken music as serious as a heart attack... And I don't expect my feelings to waver until the day I pass... So rest well knowing you are hiring a true professional in this field.
