Rod Brind'Amour is a retired NHL center who spent 20 years playing for the St. Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers and the Carolina Hurricanes. Brind'Amour captained the Hurricanes to its first Stanley Cup championship in 2006. He was a two-time recipient of the Frank J. Selke Trophy and was a member of the 1992 NHL All-Star team. Brind'Amour was born in Ottawa, Ontario and raised in Prince Rupert and Campbell River, British Columbia. He played collegiately at Michigan State and was drafted by the Blues in the first round of the 1988 NHL draft.
