Denny Hamlin is a stock car driver who races in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Hamlin has won more than 30 races, including the Daytona 500 twice (2016, 2019) along with four other top four finishes, Southern 500 (2010, 2017), Sprint All-Star Race (2015), Aaron's 499 (2014), Sprint Unlimited (2006, 2014, 2016) and Can-Am Duels (2008, 2014, 2017). Hamlin's most successful season came in 2010 when he won eight races and finished runner-up in the final standings to Jimmie Johnson. Hamlin has driven in the Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing since 2005. He's considered one of the most consistent drivers in NASCAR and won at least one race each year from 2006-2017.

Hamlin grew up in Chesterfield, Virginia and started racing go-karts at seven years old. He began racing full-time on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (then called the Nextel Cup Series) in 2006 and became the first rookie ever to quality for the NASCAR playoffs (known as the Chase for the Nextel Cup) in route to being named Rookie of the Year in what's considered one of the best seasons ever by a rookie in NASCAR history. Hamlin got his first win that year at the Pocono 500.
