Landon Donovan
One of the most prolific American soccer players of all-time, Landon Donovan began his professional career in 1999 and played for teams in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Mexico.
Internationally, Donovan represented the United States on its national team from 2000-2014. He holds U.S. records for career assists and is tied for the all-time lead in goals with Clint Dempsey. Early in his career and prior to joining the national team, he spent two years playing for the U-17 team and won the Golden Ball at the 1999 FIFA World Championships as the best player.
Donovan played for the LA Galaxy of MLS from 2005-14 and again in 2016, and is Major League Soccer's all-time leader in goals with 145 and assists with 136. His six MLS Cups are also a league record, and in 2015, MLS renamed its MVP award the Landon Donovan MVP Award in his honor.
Donovan earned MLS Cup MVP honors in 2003 and 2011 and won the MLS MVP award in 2009. He has broadcast soccer games for ESPN and FOX Sports and currently lives in Manhattan Beach, California with his wife and son.
