GA, USJill Cox-Cordova has not only experienced the woes that come with being at the intersectionality of Black and female, she has also covered it as a former journalist. She worked for 21 years at such media outlets as CNN.com, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, NBC, and a slew of affiliates nationwide. She also freelanced for Essence magazine.
She holds an MFA from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Her narrative nonfiction has appeared in Parks and Points, which placed second in the publication's essay contest. One of her short stories earned an honorable mention in the humor category of the Soul-Making Keats Literary Competition, and her flash fiction was published in an anthology.
Currently, Jill teaches at a Georgia university, is active as a member of the Atlanta Writers Club, and co-hosts with her husband, "I'm Right. I'm Right," a podcast about relationships.
