On 18 March 2016, Lewis headlined Cirque du Soleil's One Night for One Drop performance in Las Vegas. On 26 May 2016, it was announced that Lewis would make her Broadway debut, as Grizabella, in the July 2016 revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats. She left the role, after almost four months of playing the character, on 9 October 2016. In June 2016, after two years with the label, Lewis and Island Records parted ways because of "something that didn't click". Later that month, she released the song "(We All Are) Looking for Home", a charity single created in collaboration with Diane Warren for the Vanderpump Dog Foundation's public service announcement, in opposition to the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. In December 2016, Lewis reimagined Hans Zimmer's "Now We Are Free" on the album Hans Zimmer: The Classics.
In 2017, Lewis signed a modelling contract collaborating with Wilhelmina Models. In December 2017, Lewis paid tribute to Lionel Richie at the 40th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. In February 2018, Leona Lewis collaborated with Calum Scott to re-release "You Are the Reason" as a duet. It peaked at #43 in the UK, also charting across Europe, the US and in New Zealand. It was later certified Silver by BPI and Gold by the RIAA. In May 2018, Lewis performed at the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington D.C. In June 2018, she collaborated with Pitbull on "Amore", the lead single for the 2018 film Gotti. In October 2018, Lewis featured on a song called "Headlights", a track produced by Hellberg. In November 2018, Lewis performed at the 92nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. In June 2019, Lewis is set to perform alongside Chaka Khan at the Butterfly Ball, a children's charity event.
