Sea Girls

Sea Girls

CA, US
English indie rock band formed in London in 2015

Kicking off 2019 with a BBC Sound Of nomination and riotous sell out shows Sea Girls have announced details of their new UK Autumn tour. The biggest tour to date it includes London's 02 Forum Kentish Town on 10th October.

'Closer' led by swathes of infectious melodies and guitar lines and a firm live favourite amongst fans is the latest track to be released marking the band's 100th show at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester supporting The Kooks.

Four piece Sea Girls are proving adept at delivering simple storytelling arena ready anthems. Debut single Call Me Out caught the attention of taste makers around the globe as an initial case in point. New single and Radio 1 Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record In The World' Damage Done proves no exception to the rule. A powerful reminder of how keeping things simple can prove incredibly effective. Seeing Sea Girls play their tightly honed tunes, with crowds chanting back every word on songs that pack such solid punches, makes you think they won't be held back for long.

Picture the scene. Thousands upon thousands of fans gathered in one space with hands aloft, screaming along to every word, their body shaking with adrenaline as track after track hits them like a tidal wave. That feeling, of being wrapped up in a band who seize the euphoric and turn it into something vital and real in front of your eyes, that feeling is what makes a band special. Emblazoned front and centre, it's what Sea Girls burst and pulse with – a band aiming first & foremost at being the torch-bearing sing-a-long for a whole new generation & a band trading, at its core, in what may seem the simplest of sciences. Turn everything up a notch, write anthems to throw yourselves into & be that soundtrack for the best nights of people's lives.

To coincide with the band's first anniversary of debut Call Me Out and headline gig, their third EP, the live fan favourite, ADORED was released last summer and saw Sea Girls perform to festival crowds up and down the country inc. All Points East, Neighbourhood Weekender, Citadel, Truck and Reading & Leeds.

2019 looks set to continue that story with festival appearances already announced with LAL, Neighbourhood Weekender, Isle Of Wight, Rock Werchter Belgium, Community London, Castlefield Bowl (The Kooks) Manchester, TRNSMT, Tramlines, Benicassim Spain, Kendal Calling, Standon Calling, Y Not festival, Truck, Boardmasters, Reading & Leeds festivals and Electric Picnic Ireland.... (see Live tab for latest dates)

Arriving in London via Leicestershire and Kent, Sea Girls know there is nothing understated or apologetic about a bold chorus, especially one that can be sung in unison by thousands of fans together of all walks of life. Sea Girls have these choruses in spades. New single Open Up Your Head proves no exception to the rule. A powerful reminder of how keeping things simple can prove incredibly effective.
