Jim Cramer
Jim Cramer graduated with great honors from Harvard College. During his time there Jim was president of The Harvard Crimson. He worked as a journalist at the Tallahassee Democrat and the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, covering news stories on various topics from sports to homicide. After that he moved to New York to help start American Lawyer magazine.
After a three-year stint there, Jim enrolled Harvard Law School and received his JD in 1984. Instead of practicing law, however, he joined Goldman Sachs, where he worked in sales and trading. In 1987 he left Goldman and started his own hedge fund. While he worked at his fund, Cramer helped start Smart Money for Dow Jones, and in 1996 founded TheStreet.com, where he serves on the board and has been a columnist and contributor ever since.
In 2000 he left active money management to embrace media full time, including radio and television. Currently, Cramer is a markets commentator for CNBC and TheStreet.com. He also writes daily for Action Alerts PLUS and TheStreet.com's RealMoney. In addition to that, he takes part in various video segments on TheStreet.com TV, and serves as host of CNBC's Mad Money television program.
