Kathi Osmonson starting fighting fire in 1987 quickly developing a focus on saving lives and property through public education and youth firesetter intervention.
She is a global speaker, author and holds a master's degree in forensic behavioral health.
Kathi is currently a Minnesota deputy state fire marshal teaching professionals how to work with children who start fires and how to present fire prevention education. She developed and maintains a statewide youth fire intervention team consisting of fire service, mental health, law enforcement, justice and social service professionals. She also developed a Minnesota certification for youth fire intervention specialists and program managers. The certification is nationally recognized.
