Peter was drafted out of college by the Winnipeg Jets and joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1990-91 Season when the Pens won their first Stanley Cup and repeated as Cup Champions in 1991-1992.

In 1997 Peter retired to begin a second career in TV and radio broadcasting as the Penguin's "color commentator" for the FOX network and created several businesses serving as VP of Business Development.

Peter lives with his wife, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Vonda Wright and their blended family of 6 children in Pittsburgh.
