Founder of Green Builder magazine and award winning design/build firm, Ron Jones is the only person ever to have served on the Boards of Directors of both the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). He was named 2006 NAHB Green Advocate of the Year for his work in bringing green home building into the mainstream.

In 2007-08 he chaired the American National Standards Institute committee that produced the first universally accepted National Green Building Standard. Earlier, Jones was the founding chairman of the NAHB Green Building Subcommittee and an original member of the LEED Homes Committee of the USGBC, on which he served for seven years. He chaired the steering committee for the first National Green Building Conference.

Jones is the owner and the founder of Green Builders LLC, a leader in the progressive real estate industry. Its projects have garnered both Housing Excellence Awards and Custom Home of the Year Awards.

Jones is also the co-founder and President of Green Builder Media. In addition to publishing Green Builder Magazine, it has placed his feature articles, stories, and interviews with such print publications as The Wall Street Journal, The Denver Post, Better Homes & Gardens, Professional Builder, Custom Builder Magazine, and LOHAS Journal. He has also appeared on Home & Garden Television and in instructional videos for the Sustainable Buildings Industry Council and the American Society of Interior Designers.

Jones speaks on green design and building and its importance and role in the larger issues of social and environmental sustainability.
