Mohan Sivaloganathan

TED Speaker

NY, US

TED Speaker, Leadership Strategist, Culture Shaper, and Hip-Hop Artist

Mohan is a keynote speaker, coach, and a "recovering CEO.” Above all, he is a proud father, husband, son, brother, friend, and a committed challenger to the status quo. Mohan is the founder of Harmonious Leadership, a movement to rewrite the rules for leadership and social change.

Mohan has earned the nickname of the “Batman of Social Impact” through his work as an executive leader by day – and keynote speaker + hip-hop artist by night. Throughout his career, Mohan has supported local and national organizations in orchestrating sustainable transformation and systems change for education, civic engagement, racial equity, and social justice. He leans on his first-generation immigrant roots, understanding the power of identity, culture, and social innovation and the power this trifecta has to move people, money, resources, and policies in pursuit of justice.

Harmonious Leadership asks “what if” by breaking down the false choice of having to choose between wellbeing and performance. This antiquated leadership ideology inhibits people and organizations from advancing their boldest social impact ideas. Mohan delivers impactful keynotes that redefine leadership and organizations, ignite action, and equip leaders with practical tools to navigate burnout and find their zone of genius. Additionally, Mohan consults with organizations to transform their culture and operations, and offers coaching to leaders to achieve a harmonious balance between doing their best and feeling their best.

Mohan recently served as the CEO of Our Turn, a national, youth-led movement working to close the opportunity gaps for young people. Our Turn built a culture marked by wellbeing, growth, and fulfillment. At a national level, the organization trained over 250 students across 35 states and secured the endorsement of 20+ organizations in support of the groundbreaking Student Agenda. Prior to Our Turn, Mohan worked full-time and in partnership roles with leading organizations including Procter & Gamble, Teach For America, The World Economic Forum, LearnerStudio, Nationswell, The Mission Continues, and more. He and his teams have impacted thousands of students, young professionals, philanthropists, and corporate leaders across the globe, strengthening organizational culture, building leadership pipelines, and launching award-winning social impact programs.

As a nonprofit leader, Mohan has been awarded the “40 Under 40 Rising Star” by New York Nonprofit Media and a “Next Generation Leader” by the Human Services Council. Mohan’s keynote talks and thought leadership have been featured by TED, ESPN, Fast Company, Stanford Social Innovation Review, New York University, Good is the New Cool, Fordham University, Net Impact, Penn State University, Synergos Institute, the University of San Diego, and more.

Inspired by the Dalai Lama’s words, “Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively,” Mohan remains dedicated to his mission of courageously reimagining what it takes for executive leaders to harmonize and thrive in their personal and professional lives. Mohan is recognized as “joyfully serious,” embodying a unique duality of troublemaking as an act of changing paradigms and holding deep care for work culture and community culture. Stop Playing it Safe

Leaning into cutting edge leadership characteristics to meet the moment

The Missing Ingredient

Planting a flag for your unique brand of leadership so you and your team can thrive

Leadership is not a title. Too often, people are thrown into positions where they need to identify and tap their strengths so they can influence others toward urgent priorities…with limited consciousness of who they are as leaders, and how their approach might impact others. They turn to surveys and other tools that tell them who they are, as opposed to writing their...
