Whitney Wolfe Herd is an American entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of Bumble, and a co-founder of the dating app Tinder. Bumble, a dating app that allows only women to initiate contact, had amassed 11 million registered users as of January 2017. It's majority owned by European dating. According to Forbes, Bumble is valued at more than $1 billion.

While at Tinder, Herd was vice president of marketing and has been credited with fueling the apps' popularity on college campuses and growing its user base. Wolfe left the company in 2014 due in part to growing tensions with other company executives. After leaving the company, she filed a lawsuit against Tinder for sexual harassment and reportedly received a more than $1 million settlement in addition to stock in the company.

Bumble was founded in 2014 and by December 2015, the app had reached over 15 million unique conversations and 80 million matches.

Herd was named one of Business Insider's 30 Most Important Women Under 30 In Tech in 2014. In 2016, she was named as one of Elle'sWomen in Tech. She was also named one of 2017's Forbes 30 Under 30.
